requiem for what is lost
by Sydney Kaplan
My work of creative fiction touches on the topic of sexuality in relation to friendship. Incorporating non-heterosexual themes that do not cater to the eyes and ears of patriarchal society is one of the many ways in which my piece interacts with the field of Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. I wrote the paper for a class, but I also wrote it for me. It is geared toward the quiet inklings of sexuality that sit in the shadows.
